McCarty LTD branches out their business from training horses, to include transporting horses...
John McCarty and Carrie Cada have over 60 combined years involved in the horse industry, both beginning their horse experience before the age of 10.
While most those years have been anchored in the Arabian horse breed and industry, they have garnered experience throughout their careers in many different breeds and disciplines including Quarter Horses, Draft breeds, Reining horses, Morgans, Saddlebreds and Thoroughbreds.
John and Carrie opened McCarty Ltd in the spring of 2012, and began accepting client horses in training at their location in Omaha. John and Carrie train primarily Arabian and Half Arabian English and Hunter pleasure show horses, with a strong emphasis on starting young prospects and developing junior and amateur riders.
They are also starting a small breeding program of their own to produce the beautiful, athletic, and winning Arabian horses they love to train and show.
In Early 2016, a longtime friend of John and Carrie’s let them know he was looking at selling his top of the line commercial horse rig. John has operated similar equipment over the years in his work for large breeding farms and training facilities, including their own training operation here in Omaha.
At that time, John and Carrie made the decision to venture into the equine transport industry in conjunction with their training operation. Having held his CDL since the early 2000’s, and with the availability of one of the nicest rigs on the road, John saw an opening in the Midwest for this type of high end horse transport company.
More about our services.
Over decades of starting, training, and showing horses with some of the most successful farms and trainers in the Arabian breed—earning numerous national honors—I’ve always aspired to be a true horseman. Years ago, we transitioned into commercial horse transport, recognizing the business potential of offering high-end transport for any breed or discipline rather than focusing solely on training. Ensuring the safe and healthy transport of show horses and young stock has always been a natural extension of my skills.
Having hauled countless client and farm horses to national-level shows, I treat every horse on my rigs with the same care and concern as those I’ve trained. From day one, we’ve prioritized top-quality equipment and maintained full legal compliance as a DOT/MC “for hire” operation.
One of my favorite aspects of horse transport is making a young horse’s first trip as smooth and stress-free as possible. We specialize in long hauls for show horses, weanlings, and yearlings, often using box stalls to ensure a healthier, less stressful experience for both horses and drivers. Box stalls make a noticeable difference in the well-being of the animals and are a cornerstone of our approach whenever possible.
While our foundation and focus remain in the horse industry, we’re committed to bringing the same care and dedication to other sectors within the trucking industry. As a fully legal and compliant trucking entity, we see opportunities to expand into general freight lanes, particularly those closer to our Omaha, NE, base, and with more frequency and consistency than high-end horse transport.
This expansion opens exciting opportunities to build a diverse, sustainable trucking company. It also enables us to recruit drivers and employees with expertise in other areas of transportation and logistics.
We welcome any and all inquiries into how we might help you with any of your transportation and logistics needs.
